Located in Battery park, this new playground has it all: new futuristic design, slides, water games, climbing wall, an amphitheater, a tower to climb and cool mist that makes this already wonderful playground magical. The location is great as it is accessible by bus, ferry or trains. Battery park is connected to the promenade with nice views of Liberty Island, the river and it's bridges. There are no restrooms here. During our visit, on a Sunday, there were also free puppet shows for children. Tired parents can find several coffee shops less than 5 minutes away from the park. There is also a fancy new marry go around very close to the park (tickets required).

A little patch of green with few picnic tables and shaded areas. Often used for kids birthday parties or similar family type events. This isn't too far away from the ancient playground (WC). This is usually first come first serve kind of a deal but note that people may reserve this spot or parts of it via the central park website for private events. If you are lucky you might also have one of the jazz bands play while you are there making your stay even more enjoyable.

Fast and fine - pasta place. Pick your pasta, sauce, additions and enjoy. Prices are reasonable. No indoor sitting. Don't miss out on the vegan menu.
