I generally avoid flying through Germany because of my experiences at Frankfurt airport. It’s too big, too busy and too impersonal. This was the first time I was flying through Munich, not by choice, but because my flights was canceled and the system automatically rebooked me on a flight thru Munich.
The airport was a pleasant surprise. It’s small and cozy. In contrast to the security screening at Frankfurt which was such a hassle with long lines and increased level of security checks. I remember one time they prohibited an article that were allowed by the originating airport and I had no option but to discard it.
In Munich they don’t recheck your cabin bags and the immigration check was very quick. The staff are very efficient and polite. Perhaps some more of warmth may have been good but I can’t complain.
Overall a great experience!
